DONORS

I love the mission of the PAACC and want to donate money to your efforts. How can I help?2023-01-21T18:45:28+00:00

We are so glad you appreciate the efforts we are making toward giving our ancestors a resting place of which they would be proud. Your desire to back the efforts of the Pyland African American Cemetery Charter means a lot as the cemetery is a sacred site with so much history within the fences.

To financially support the PAACC, you may become a member by paying $100 for the year. Your membership would expire at the end of 12 months, but is renewable at the current donation amount.

As a member, you would receive membership privileges:

  1. a reduced rate on your burial in the cemetery.
  2. The opportunity to attend any of the quarterly meetings of the PAACC board where you can offer your input and ideas in regard to helping the PAACC make continued improvement of the grounds.

In the event you would like to become a member of the PAACC, but cannot pay $100 in full, you may pay your $100 membership fee in installments throughout the year.

I will not be buried in the Pyland African American cemetery because I own a plot in another cemetery, but I still want to help. Can I still donate to the PAACC?2023-01-21T18:45:28+00:00
The PAACC thanks you, in advance, for your thoughtfulness and generosity. Yes, we welcome donations from both individuals and organizations in any amount.  You can choose to make a one-time contribution, monthly, or annual donations.
I will be buried in the Cemetery. How much can I donate?2023-01-21T18:45:28+00:00

Thank you for asking. We understand that choosing a final resting place is important. We ask that ALL persons to be buried in the Pyland African American Cemetery donate to the PAACC for the upkeep of his/her plot.  The amount you can donate will depend upon your membership status at the time of your death.

  • If you deceased member of the PAACC and in good standing, we ask that you donate the $300.00 gate fee before being interred.
  • If you are a deceased member of the PAACC who is not in good standing, we ask that you donate the $500.00 gate fee before being interred.

Please note:

  • Family members choose the location of the burial plot inside cemetery.
  • Family members supply tombstone.
  • Funeral home is responsible for plot digging
I understand that whether I become a member of the PAACC or not, my donation is important. How will my donation be used?2023-01-21T18:45:28+00:00

Your contribution to the continued preservation of the Pyland African American Cemetery is invaluable. Your donations will help:

  • and repair/replace worn fences and gates around cemetery grounds
  • repair damaged headstones
  • create sitting area for visitors inside cemetery
  • to fund research needed to get the unknown historic facts about Pyland African American Cemetery
